April is heating up, Plato Baristas… it’s go time! Do you have what it takes to be crowned the Latte Art King or Queen of the North and South? Grab your pitchers and get ready for our very first Plato Barista Latte Art Throwdown, happening in the North at Blank Coffee Supplies on April 21 and in the South at The Academy on April 23. Expect high energy, bold pours, and a true head-to-head showdown as our baristas battle it out!
The wider Plato community is invited to come through, soak up the vibe, cheer on competitors, and celebrate together. We’ll also be live streaming the event on @theacademy.coffee, so wherever you are, you can tune in, follow the action in real time, and be part of the excitement as it unfolds.

Alongside this headline event, we continue to sculpt coffee excellence through workshops and courses. Over the next three months, five public courses rotate through: Home Brewing (Espresso), Home Brewing (Filter), Barista Basics, Sensory Evaluation and Tasting, and Becoming a Café Barista. All course details and schedules are available on our website, so be sure to check this out. We also now offer a dedicated monthly slot for corporate teams looking to do something fun and engaging with their team. Just reach out, and we’ll make it happen!

Whether you’re stepping onto the floor to compete, joining a course to learn about the beautiful world of coffee, or simply coming through to be part of the community, April is set to be a wonderful month.
